Srinagar, Jan 27: Fresh snowfall across the Kashmir Valley on Tuesday caused widespread disruption to transportation, affecting road, rail, and air connectivity. The Srinagar–Jammu National Highway was closed to traffic following heavy snowfall in and around the Navyug Tunnel, with authorities suspending vehicular movement from both Srinagar and Jammu sides.
Officials said that several key routes, including the Mughal Road, Srinagar–Sonamarg–Gumri road, and Sinthan Pass, have also been shut as a precautionary measure.
Rail services were partially impacted, with two passenger trains cancelled due to adverse weather conditions. The Banihal–Budgam train service was also suspended.
At Srinagar International Airport, 25 flights were cancelled owing to poor visibility caused by the fresh snowfall. Authorities have advised commuters to avoid unnecessary travel until weather conditions improve and to stay in regular contact with airlines.
Passengers have been urged to follow official traffic advisories and updates for accurate information.
