Srinagar : Deputy Chief Minister Sunday visited the Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC), HMT Srinagar, to take stock of ongoing snow clearance operations and restoration of essential services across the Kashmir Valley.
Reviewing the post snowfall situation the Deputy Chief Minister underscored the urgency of snow clearance following recent snowfall, directing relevant departments to prioritize the clearing of main and link roads to ensure smooth public movement. He highlighted the necessity of maintaining access to major hospitals and healthcare facilities, emphasizing that patient care must remain uninterrupted. Additionally, he called for the immediate restoration of essential services such as power and water supply in affected areas and assessed the availability of essential commodities in local markets. The Deputy Chief Minister stressed the importance of coordinated efforts among departments to enhance service delivery efficiency. He visited the Mechanical Engineering Department in Srinagar to evaluate the deployment of personnel and machinery for snow clearance operations, urging readiness to address any future weather-related challenges. Furthermore, he inspected the construction of the Seerbagh–Sempora Bridge, a critical infrastructure project aimed at improving connectivity for several villages in the Pampore and Chadoora areas.
