Srinagar : On the occasion of the 76th Republic Day, fifty-two personnel from the Jammu and Kashmir Police were honored with police medals, reflecting their courage and dedication.
Reports said that awards included prestigious recognitions such as the President’s Medal for Distinguished Service, the Medal for Gallantry, and the Medal for Meritorious Service, highlighting the diverse contributions of the force in challenging environments. Two senior officers, Deputy Inspectors General of Police Haseeb Mughal and Nisha Nathyal, received the President’s Medal for Distinguished Service for their exemplary leadership and commitment. Additionally, thirty-three personnel were awarded the Medal for Gallantry for their exceptional bravery in operational situations, including notable figures such as Deputy Superintendents of Police Javaid Ahmad Lone, Mohd Ashrif, and Mohan Lal, as well as IPS officer Tanushree and other officers across various ranks. Seventeen officers were recognized with the Medal for Meritorious Service, acknowledging their sustained and diligent performance. This group included three Inspector Generals of Police—Mohd Suleman Choudhary, Sujit Kumar, and Vivek Gupta—alongside several Deputy Superintendents, Inspectors, and lower-ranking officers who demonstrated unwavering commitment to their duties.
