Ramban: Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Gool, Imtiaz Ahmed conducted a surprise visit to Gool Market and Community Health Centre (CHC) Gool to review the prevailing situation and assess winter preparedness, particularly snow clearance, road connectivity and power supply in the area.
He was accompanied by Tehsildar Sangaldan Harjeet Singh, SDPO Gool Kuldeep Raj, Block Development Officer (BDO) Gool Sadam Hussain and SHO Gool Sameer Ahmed. The surprise inspection was aimed at taking first-hand stock of public facilities and ensuring that essential services remain functional during the ongoing winter season.
During the visit to Gool Market, the SDM interacted with shopkeepers and local residents to understand their issues. He inspected the general condition of roads, availability of essential commodities and the impact of recent snowfall on daily life. He directed the concerned departments to ensure timely snow clearance on all main and link roads so that normal movement of people and vehicles is not hampered.
The SDM also reviewed the status of road connectivity to nearby villages and instructed officials to keep men and machinery on standby to deal with any emergency arising due to snowfall. Emphasis was laid on maintaining uninterrupted power supply, especially in the market area and health institutions. Officers from the concerned departments were asked to coordinate closely to resolve power-related issues at the earliest.
At CHC Gool, the SDM inspected various sections of the hospital and enquired about the availability of doctors, paramedical staff, medicines and heating arrangements. He interacted with patients and hospital staff and stressed the need to ensure quality healthcare services, particularly during harsh winter conditions. He directed the medical staff to remain alert and ensure round-the-clock services, adding that no patient should face inconvenience due to lack of facilities.
The SDM urged all line departments to work in close coordination and remain responsive to public needs. He reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to ensuring smooth connectivity, reliable power supply and effective healthcare services in Gool subdivision.
The surprise visit was appreciated by locals, who expressed hope that such inspections would further improve public service delivery in the area.
