DC Kishtwar takes stock of restoration works post-snowfall

Kishtwar : Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Pankaj Kumar Sharma Saturday chaired a comprehensive review meeting to assess the status of road connectivity and essential services across the district post snowfall.
The Deputy Commissioner took stock of post-snowfall conditions with particular focus on snow clearance and road restoration, drinking water supply, electricity restoration and other essential civic amenities.
The concerned Executive Engineers briefed the chair on the progress of restoration works undertaken so far.
Emphasizing the urgency of restoring connectivity, the DC directed the Executive Engineer, PWD R&B Paddar to expedite road clearance and ensure early restoration of connectivity to far-flung areas including Machail and other remote habitations.
He further directed PMGSY Department Kishtwar to work in close coordination with PWD R&B Department Kishtwar for clearing all pending and blocked roads on a priority basis.
Stressing inter-departmental coordination, the Deputy Commissioner directed all concerned departments to work in close coordination so that the general public does not face any inconvenience.
He directed the concerned officers to take all necessary measures to ensure uninterrupted essential services during the harsh winter conditions.
The Jal Shakti Department was directed to remain vigilant against freezing of water pipelines and to ensure uninterrupted water supply to the public.
Similarly, the JPDCL Kishtwar was instructed to restore electricity in affected areas on a priority basis, intensify patrolling of damaged installations and complete restoration work within stipulated timelines.
The Deputy Commissioner laid special emphasis on ensuring that the general public does not suffer at any cost and directed officers to remain proactive and responsive.
The meeting was attended by ADC Pawan Kotwal, CPO Akhil Thakur, Executive Engineer PWD Ravinder Verma, Executive Engineer PMGSY Shakti Kumar Raina, Executive Engineer PWD Paddar, Executive Engineer PWD R&B Chatroo, Executive Engineer PWD R&B Marwah, AEE JPDCL Sub-Division Kishtwar, AEE Mechanical and Hospital Sub-Division Kishtwar along with other senior officers.
