Srinagar : Police on Saturday said that it has solved a burglary case within 24 hours of its reporting, leading to the arrest of the accused and recovery of stolen property.
In a statement issued here on Saturday Police said that a written complaint was filed at the Police Station Sopore by one Akash Ahmad Wani about a burglary that occurred during night intervening January 22-23, 2026. The unknown burglars broke into his shop in Iqbal Market, Sopore, and took away various crockery items. Following the complaint, a case under FIR No. 22/2026 was registered besides initiating an investigation. During the investigation, several suspects were interrogated, leading to the confession of one suspect, Danish Ahmad Gojri, who admitted to his involvement in the burglary. Based on his disclosure, police recovered stolen property valued at several lakhs of rupees. Danish Ahmad Gojri has since been arrested, and further investigations are going on to explore any additional connections or accomplices in the crime. In its statement Police reiterated its commitment to conduct swift investigations, protect property and commercial establishments besides taking firm action against criminal activities .
