Additional Deputy Commissioner, Varunjeet Singh Charak, flagged off the Mega ‘Vande Mataram’ Rally from the District Police Lines (DPL), Ramban. The rally conveyed a strong message of unity, integrity and national pride. A large number of locals, along with students and teachers from various schools across the district, participated enthusiastically, infusing the event with vibrant patriotic fervour.
The programme witnessed the presence of Chief Education Officer, MS Khan, Tehsildar Ramban, Deep Kumar, Tehsildar (HQ), Reejuta Mahajan, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Jagdish Raj Sharma, besides officers and officials from various departments, teachers and students.
As part of the celebrations, plantation drives were conducted at multiple locations across the district, symbolising reverence for Bharat Mata. Saplings planted by the Horticulture Department, in coordination with other line departments, stood as living tributes to the spirit of Vande Mataram, blending national pride with environmental responsibility. A major plantation drive was also organised at Maitra under the supervision of Chief Horticulture Officer Rajinder Lochan.
Similarly, a Tiranga Rally was held at Banihal by the Municipal Committee Banihal and PWD Division Banihal, showcasing patriotic murals highlighting 150 years of Vande Mataram.
The events concluded with renewed community spirit and a collective resolve to uphold national values while working towards a greener and more sustainable Ramban.
