Baramulla: Tight security arrangements have been put in place ahead of the Republic Day celebrations in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
The DIG North Kashmir Range Maqaood Ul Zaman on Thursday held a comprehensive multi-agency meeting at DPL Baramulla to tighten the security arrangements ahead of the Republic Day events in North Kashmir. The meeting was among others attended by senior officers from Army, CRPF, BSF, and local police, emphasizing the importance of joint coordination and collective responsibility in maintaining security. The discussions focused on analyzing recent developments and intelligence inputs, particularly regarding potential threats from anti-national elements. Key security strategies were outlined, including intensified area domination, the establishment of 24×7 checkpoints, monitoring of national highways, and the protection of vital installations and minority communities. Additionally, emphasis was laid on social media monitoring, preparedness for local law and order situations, and ongoing analysis of local intelligence reports. Security measures for Republic Day events were reviewed to ensure comprehensive protection and access control. DIG NKR highlighted the necessity of seamless collaboration among all forces, stressing that joint drills, proactive measures, and real-time intelligence sharing are essential for ensuring peaceful celebrations. He appealed people to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to support security efforts. The meeting concluded with a strong commitment from all agencies to work closely together, ensuring that the Republic Day celebrations in North Kashmir are conducted securely and with dignity, leaving no stone unturned in safeguarding the national function.
