Reasi: The third day of the Vande Mataram Phase–II celebrations witnessed an enthusiastic display of patriotism and active participation across district Reasi. The week-long series of activities is being conducted under the guidance of District Development Commissioner, Nidhi Malik.
Educational institutions across the district played a pivotal role in commemorating the occasion by organising a range of activities aimed at instilling patriotic values among students. These included mass singing of Vande Mataram, essay writing and slogan writing competitions as well as special morning assemblies. The assemblies highlighted the historical significance of Vande Mataram and paid tribute to the sacrifices made during India’s freedom struggle. The programmes served as a platform to sensitise young minds to the ideals of unity, integrity and love for the nation.
On the third day of celebrations, symposium competitions were organised in schools and colleges to promote critical thinking and discussions on national values. The Education Department conducted symposiums on the theme of Vande Mataram at PM SHRI Government Girls Higher Secondary School Reasi, Government Higher Secondary School Laiter and Government Middle School Susla. Similar competitions were also held at Higher Secondary School Arnas and PM SHRI Government High School Bidda.
A special symposium on “150 Years of Vande Mataram” was organised at Government Higher Secondary School Panassa, where students eloquently expressed their thoughts on patriotism and national identity. Additionally, an online symposium commemorating 150 years of Vande Mataram was conducted by the students of Higher Secondary School Shajroo, demonstrating active engagement through digital platforms. A symposium followed by prize distribution was also held at Higher Secondary School Mahore, encouraging enthusiastic student participation.
The District Administration reaffirmed its commitment to fostering patriotic awareness and upholding cultural values through inclusive and impactful initiatives. The Vande Mataram Phase–II celebrations will continue in the coming days with more programmes planned across the district, aimed at strengthening national pride, preserving cultural heritage and fostering a sense of collective belonging among citizens.
