January 22: With the Republic Day celebrations approaching, North Kashmir has stepped into a heightened state of vigilance and in this behalf a comprehensive multi‑agency security meeting was convened today by DIG North Kashmir Range, Shri Maqsood‑ul‑Zaman-IPS at DPL Baramulla. The meeting brought together senior Officers from the Army, CRPF, BSF, District SSsP of North Kashmir Range, Armed Police, SSB, IB, CID, CIK, SDRF and Fire & Emergency Services reflecting the spirit of joint coordination and collective responsibility.

During the deliberations, recent developments and intelligence inputs were thoroughly analyzed with special emphasis on thwarting attempts by anti‑national elements to create disturbances. The participating Officers discussed a wide spectrum of security parameters including intensified area domination, strengthening & establishment of 24×7 Nakas, domination of National Highways, CCTV monitoring, protection of vital installations & minority pockets, monitoring of social media and VPN usage, preparedness for handling local law & order situations and continuous analysis of local intelligence reports. Venue and perimeter security for Republic Day functions were also reviewed in detail to ensure layered protection and access control.

The DIG NKR underscored the importance of seamless synergy among all forces stressing that joint drills, proactive measures and real-time intelligence sharing are critical to ensuring peaceful and incident-free celebrations. He further emphasized the role of public cooperation, urging citizens to remain vigilant, report suspicious activities and extend support to security forces in maintaining peace and harmony.

The meeting concluded with a reaffirmed commitment from all agencies to work in close coordination leaving no stone unturned in safeguarding the dignity of the national function and ensuring that the Republic Day celebrations in North Kashmir are conducted in a secure and dignified manner.
