Republic Day-2026 arrangements finalized in Handwara

Kupwara : Additional Deputy Commissioner, (ADC), Handwara, Javed Naseem Masoodi Monday convened a meeting of all concerned officers at Chamber of ADC office Handwara here, to finalise the arrangements for smooth and hassle free celebration of Republic Day 2026.
The meeting held threadbare discussion and the officers gave details of their preparations with regard to smooth celebration of the National Event.
The meeting was informed that the function will start with Shanai vadan at 8:05 Am, while the National Flag unfurling will be held at 10:05 AM.
The meeting was further informed that the main function of Republic Day will be held at District police lines DPL Kulangam Handwara, where National Flag will be unfurled and the VIP will take salute on the March past, comprising the contingents of paramilitary Forces, JKP, CRPF, BSF, FPF, Home Guards, NCC cadets, school children and police band.
The ADC directed all officers to work with coordination and ensure proper arrangements on ground for smooth conduct of the event.
It was given out in the meeting that uninterrupted power supply and water supply shall be kept available at the venue, for which concerned officers were given directions onspot. Medical Superintendent, Associated hospital GMC Handwara and Block Medical Officer Langate and Handwara were directed to keep Ambulance, first aid facilities and doctor available at the venue. Executive officer, MC Handwara was directed to maintain proper sanitation and cleanliness at the venue and Town area. Other arrangements were also reviewed which included refreshment, reception of Chief Guest, transport, fire and emergency services, cultural programmes, deployment of magistrates, distribution of invitation cards, selection of officers and officials for recognition of their extraordinary services.
The ADC directed concerned officers to ensure proper exhibition of schemes through Tableaus to showcase developmental activities of their respective departments and government schemes. He said all efforts shall be made to make the national function more attractive and informative.
The ADC directed concerned officers for maintaining proper protocol in seating arrangements. He also directed officers to ensure their presence including staff in the Republic Day functions and ensure Flag unfurling in their respective offices.
The meeting was attended by DySP, DR, Handwara and all officers of line departments.
