DEO Kishtwar reviews arrangements for National Voters’ Day-2026 celebration

Kishtwar : District Election Officer (Deputy Commissioner) Kishtwar, Pankaj Kumar Sharma Monday chaired a meeting to review the arrangements for the National Voters’ Day (NVD) celebrations.
Comprehensive discussions were held regarding the arrangements and the activities to be held on the NVD, scheduled for January 25.
It was decided that the main celebration shall be held at GDC Kishtwar (District Hqrs.). Awareness activities would also be held in Villages, Higher Secondary Schools, ERO HQ and other institutions to mobilize citizens’ participation in the electoral process and to encourage newly eligible voters.
The meeting decided to organise pre–National Voters’ Day (NVD) activities to promote the theme, “My India My Vote (Citizens at the heart of Indian Democracy”) by installing thematic banners, posting awareness videos by Youth Icons and influencers on the social media, felicitating new voters and incorporating NVD logos into office stationery, media content, websites and election-related presentations. Events featuring pledge ceremonies, quiz competitions, drawing competitions, seminars, awareness and interactive sessions for labourers at HEP project sites, awareness programmes for transporters and drivers and nukkadnataks would also be held across the District.
The DEO also directed wide publicity of the programme through social media platforms, as well as electronic and print media.
Booth Level Officers (BLOs), along with Booth Awareness Groups (BAGs) were directed to organise public awareness activities at each polling station in the district.
The meeting was attended by ADC/ERO 49-Kishtwar, Pawan Kotwal; ACD, Manoj Kumar; ACR /ERO 48-Kishtwar Idrees Lone; Dy. DEO, Shahzada Noor-ul-Keen; SDM, Dr. Mohd Ashraf; ACP, Neeraj Sharma; DSWO, Tariq Parvaiz Qazi; CDPO Inderwal, Dr. Kuldeep Kumar; ARTO, Tasleem Wani; Dy. CEO, Masood Ahmed Qazi; DIO NIC, Faizal Khan; Tehsildar Mughal Maidan, officials of the Election Cell, representatives of Degree Colleges and other concerned officers.
