Poonch : Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Ashok Kumar Sharma on Monday conducted a detailed review of the activities and progress of the National Rural Livelihoods Mission (NRLM) in the district here at a meeting.
The review meeting was attended by District Programme Manager, JKRLM, Mohammad Nadeem Bhat and all Block Programme Managers of the district. Selected LakhpatiDidis also participated in the meeting, providing valuable grassroots perspectives.
During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner held an in-depth discussion with Programme Managers and LakhpatiDidis on the current status of implementation, achievements on the ground and the roadmap ahead for strengthening livelihoods under NRLM.
The District Programme Manager NRLM gave a comprehensive presentation highlighting the progress, key interventions and ongoing activities of JKRLM in Poonch.
The NRLM team also proposed the space for food service enterprises and sought approval from the Deputy Commissioner. In response, the Deputy Commissioner suggested exploring the Youth Club premises and assured that he would take up the matter with the Police Department as the facility is currently being managed by it.
Further, the NRLM team urged formal approval for the CMTC building already identified as a Common Facility Centre (CFC) at Magnar. The matter was discussed in detail.
The Deputy Commissioner appreciated the efforts of the NRLM team and encouraged the officials to continue their work with renewed focus. He assured full support from the district administration for the welfare and economic empowerment of SHG members under NRLM.
