Budgam : The Second Phase of the nationwide celebrations marking 150 years of “Vande Mataram” commenced Monday across District Budgam with a series of awareness and patriotic activities aimed at fostering national pride and cultural consciousness.
As part of the celebrations, special morning assemblies were organized in schools across the district, where students were sensitized about the historical significance and patriotic essence of “Vande Mataram.” The assemblies highlighted the role of the iconic song in India’s freedom movement and its enduring relevance in nurturing unity and nationalism.
To encourage creative expression among students, painting competitions were organized at various educational institutions, providing young participants an opportunity to depict themes of patriotism, national unity, and devotion to the motherland.
Further extending the outreach at the grassroots level, awareness programmes were conducted in ICDS centres across Budgam. These programmes focused on spreading awareness about the cultural and national importance of “Vande Mataram,” ensuring community-level participation in the celebrations.
The district administration is committed towards actively implementing national initiatives and promoting values of patriotism, unity, and respect for India’s rich heritage through such inclusive programmes.
