14th Annual Raising Day of SDRF Celebrated at Srinagar

Srinagar : The 14th Annual Raising Day of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) was celebrated Monday with great enthusiasm at the premises of SDRF 1st Battalion, Srinagar.
The occasion was marked by an impressive march past by contingents of SDRF, NDRF, and the Pipe Band.
Imtiyaz Hussain Mir, Director Civil Defence & SDRF Kashmir was Chief Guest on the occasion, who presided over the function and took over the Salute of the March Past. The function was also attended by Masroor Ahmad Mir, Commandant SDRF 1st Bn Srinagar, DySPs and other officers and officials of SDRF 1st Bn. Srinagar.
Addressing the gathering, the Director, Civil Defence & SDRF Kashmir, commended selfless services of SDRF towards the nation and its citizens and emphasised upon them to continue serving society with greater enthusiasm, zeal, and commitment in the future as well.
On the occasion, Commandant SDRF 1st Battalion Srinagar highlighted the role and achievements of the Battalion during the year 2025. He informed that the unit conducted 810 awareness camps, 103 mock exercises, and 123 rescue operations, during which 63,640 personnel, including 70 Apda Sakhis, students, and other stakeholders, were trained in disaster preparedness to act as first responders during emergencies.
The Commandant also highlighted the significant role played by SDRF during Amarnath Yatra–2025, wherein 5,613 pilgrims were provided pre-hospital medical treatment, 7,823 pilgrims received moral and psychological support, and 1,830 pilgrims were administered on-the-spot oxygen due to altitude-related breathing difficulties.
On the occasion, Masroor Ahmad Mir distributed appreciation certificates and cash rewards among officers and officials for their exemplary services during Operation Sindoor, Amarnath Yatra–2025, and various rescue operations carried out across the Kashmir Province.
