ARTO Ramban disqualifies 3 DLs, suspends 9 RCs & 2 Route Permit of Vehicles involved in NDPS Cases

Ramban: In a significant move to enhance public safety and curb drug-related activities, Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) Ramban, Er. Kuldeep Singh has disqualified driving licences of three individuals for a period of three months for their involvement in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act cases.
As per the official orders issued by the ARTO, Driving Licence No. JK19 20230000538 issued in favour of Mohammad Iqbal S/o Irshad Ahmed, R/o GujjamDeddha, Gool; Licence No. JK19 20200000385 issued in favour of Shoib Majid S/o Abdul Majid, R/o Gool Dalwah and Licence No. JK19 20170000550 issued in favour of Nittu Singh S/o Girdhari Lal R/o Bodhi Dandhrat, Ramban, have been disqualified for a period of three months with immediate effect.
Similarly, the ARTO Ramban has suspended the Registration Certificates (RCs) of seven vehicles bearing registration numbers JK19A-1502, JK19-8185, JK19A-3946, JK19A-0435, JK19-3900, JK19-3565 and JK19-7667 for a period of three months. In addition, the Route Permit and Registration Certificate of one taxi cab (JK19A-5655) and one truck (JK19-4106) have also been suspended and the Police Department has been directed to seize the vehicles.
The action has been taken in compliance with the directions of the Transport Commissioner’s Office, based on reports received from the Inspector General of Police, Crime Branch, J&K, regarding the involvement of the concerned individuals in NDPS-related activities.
The vehicle owners have been directed to submit their Route Permits and Registration Certificates at the ARTO Office, Ramban with immediate effect.
Reiterating a zero-tolerance policy towards illegal activities, the Police and Transport Departments have advised vehicle owners and drivers to strictly adhere to statutory regulations to avoid such punitive measures in future.
