Srinagar: Police on Thursday said that it has arrested a drug peddler during naka checking at Circular Road near Tahab Chowk in Pulwama.
In a statement issued here on Thursday Police said that during a naka checking operation police intercepted a suspect Bilal Ahmad Ganaie from Chatapora following which contraband substances, including 413.50 grams of a cannabis-like substance, one stick of charas weighing 36.5 grams, and 70 grams of charas powder were seized. Police registered a case under FIR (No. 08/2026) under section 8/20 of the NDPS Act at the concerned police station, and an investigation is currently underway. In its statement police reiterated its commitment to combat drug peddling activities and appealed people to cooperate with it to create a drug-free environment in Pulwama.
