Bajaj General Insurance Introduces Fetal Flourish – A Fetal Health Insurance Offering Priced at Premium of INR 1025

Srinagar: Bajaj General Insurance Limited has launched ‘Fetal Flourish’, an innovative insurance rider specifically designed for fetal health, marking a significant advancement in prenatal care. This rider provides financial support for advanced in-utero procedures and high-risk pregnancies, an area traditionally excluded from standard maternity insurance. It is available alongside the company’s flagship products, “My Health Care Plan” and “Health Guard”.
The introduction of Fetal Flourish addresses a critical gap in maternal and fetal care, particularly as the number of women in India giving birth after the age of 35 rises, leading to increased pregnancy-related complications. Essential procedures such as amniocentesis and fetoscopic laser surgery have become necessary for managing high-risk cases, yet families have often had to bear the full financial burden due to the lack of dedicated insurance options. The Fetal Flourish rider aims to alleviate this burden by covering essential procedures, allowing parents to prioritize treatment and outcomes over costs. The coverage includes a sum insured of up to INR 2 lakh per maternity event for the first two events, with a nine-month waiting period and eligibility for women aged 18 to 45 years. Fetal Flourish encompasses 16 covered procedures, including amniocentesis, fetal reduction, and surgeries for neural tube defects, thereby integrating insurance with modern fetal treatment practices.
