ADDC reviews R-Day arrangements 2026 at Udhampur

Udhampur: District Admin Udhampur Thursday finalized the arrangements for the smooth celebration of Republic Day-2026 here at a meeting chaired by Additional District Development Commissioner Jugal Kishore.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Prem Singh; Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Dr Umesh Shan; Chief Planning Officer, Uttam Singh and heads of other departments attended the meeting.
Threadbare discussions were held on the arrangements for barricading, security, traffic regulation, drinking water and power supply, sanitation, transport, distribution of prizes, Illumination of government buildings, first-aid, PAS, provision of Fire-tenders etc.
It was decided that the main function would be held at Government PG Degree College Boys, where the chief guest would hoist the National Flag and take the salute at 9:55 am. The function would start with the Shehnai Vadan by the Information department.
The ADDC asked the officers to put in place all the necessary arrangements well in time for the smooth and enthusiastic celebration of the national event. He called upon the officers and employees of all departments to remain present at the venue on the day of the function. The Executive Engineers of PHE and PWD were directed to make foolproof arrangements for seating, barricading and drinking water, while Executive Engineer PDD was asked to ensure uninterrupted power supply at the function site. The Executive Officer Municipality was asked to maintain cleanliness in the town as well as at the venue.
Regarding first aid arrangements, the Chief Medical Officer was directed to deploy an ambulance along with a team of doctors and necessary medicines till the end of function. “District and Traffic Police would ensure security and traffic management,” the ADDC added.
ADDC constituted the Reception Committee, Illumination Committee and other panels for the successful celebration of the national function.
