Rakesh Aggarwal Appointed Director General Of NIA

New Delhi : The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of Shri Rakesh Aggarwal, IPS, as the Director General of the National Investigation Agency (NIA), according to an official order issued on Wednesday.
As per the order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) , Government of India, Shri Aggarwal, a 1994-batch IPS officer of Himachal Pradesh cadre, is currently serving as Special Director General (SDG) in the NIA.
The ACC approved his appointment to the post of Director General, NIA, in Level-16 of the Pay Matrix, from the date he assumes charge of the post. His tenure will continue till August 31, 2028, the date of his superannuation, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
The appointment has been made following a proposal forwarded by the Ministry of Home Affairs and has been formally communicated by the Secretariat of the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet.
