Distt Ang to observe Phase-II of“Vande Mataram” celebrations with Patriotic activities from January 19 to 26

Anantnag : In accordance with the national calendar, District Anantnag has geared up to observe Phase II of the National Song “Vande Mataram” Celebrations from January 19 to 26, 2026, culminating on Republic Day, January 26, 2026, with a series of patriotic and vibrant programmes across the district.

To review and finalise the preparations for the week-long celebrations, the Deputy Commissioner, Anantnag, S. F. Hamid Wednesday chaired a comprehensive meeting of concerned officers at Dak Bungalow, Khanabal.

Addressing the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner highlighted the historic and inspirational significance of “Vande Mataram” in Nation’s freedom struggle and its enduring message of unity, pride and devotion to the Motherland. He underscored the need for disciplined coordination and effective field-level execution to ensure that Phase–II of the campaign is conducted in a smooth, dignified and impactful manner across all institutions and public spaces of the district.

It was informed that the district will organise multiple patriotic activities during this phase, including Tiranga Rallies, Torch Relays, mass singing of the National Song, and public events reflecting the spirit of national unity and constitutional values. These programmes will build momentum throughout the week and culminate on January 26, 2026, coinciding with the celebration of Republic Day–2026.

The events shall be conducted at Sub-Divisions, Tehsils, Colleges, Blocks, Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) and other public institutions, with active participation of senior officers, officials, students, youth volunteers and civil society members, to ensure wide public outreach and enthusiastic community engagement in the patriotic celebrations.

The meeting was attended by ADC, Principals of GDCs, SDMs, ACR, ACD, DFOs, CMO, Dy CEO, representative of SSP, DCO, Tehsildars, BDOs, Coordinators, NSS and ANOs/NCC of GDCs, CEO MCA, EOs of MCs, District Secretary BS&G and other officers.
