Doda : The Indian Army Wednesday organized an Ex-Servicemen Rally here at Doda Stadium to commemorate the 10th Veterans Day, reaffirming its unwavering commitment to the welfare of ex-servicemen, Veer Naris and Veer Matas.

The rally aimed to address the grievances of veterans and to create awareness about the welfare schemes, medical facilities, pension-related services and legal benefits available to ex-servicemen, besides strengthening coordination between the Army, civil administration and the veterans.

The rally witnessed enthusiastic participation from around 483 ex-servicemen, Veer Naris and Veer Matas from across the region, making it an inclusive and inspiring gathering.

The event was graced by Commander 9 Sector Rashtriya Rifles Brigadier, Sunil Mishra as the Chief Guest.

Deputy Commissioner, Harvinder Singh along with other civil administration functionaries were also present, extending full support to Indian Army’s continued efforts towards the welfare and dignity of veterans.

A vibrant cultural programme added colour to the occasion, featuring presentations by girl students of Army Public School Arnora and boys of Government Higher Secondary School Doda. The presentations reflected patriotism, discipline and the rich cultural ethos of the region.

Welfare desks and interaction sessions were also set up at the venue to provide veterans with information on health services, resettlement options, entitlements and grievances redressal.

Addressing the gathering, Brigadier, Sunil Mishra highlighted the Indian Army’s enduring bond with its veterans and assured continued support to them and their families, acknowledging their sacrifices and invaluable service to the nation.

The Deputy Commissioner lauded the initiative for effectively bridging the gap between ex-servicemen and government welfare mechanisms and assured all possible assistance from the district administration.

The veterans expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Indian Army for organizing the rally and the event concluded on a positive and motivating note, further strengthening the bond between the Army and the veteran community.
