Srinagar : Police on Monday arrested a drug peddler in Pulwama and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
In a statement issued here on Monday a police party of police post Newa apprehended a suspect Hilal Ahmad Wani, during a routine check, discovering 1.120 kilograms of poppy straw in his possession. Following the arrest, Wani was taken to the police station and remains in custody. A case has been registered under FIR No. 04/2026 at Police Station Pulwama, and further investigations are underway. In its statement Police reiterated its commitment to combat drug trafficking and appealed people to cooperate by providing information to help protect the youth and society from the dangers of drug abuse.
