Srinagar :The ‘Volleyball Championship’ organised by Police in Sopore under the Civic Action Programme concluded on Saturday at Khushal Sports Stadium, Sopore, witnessing enthusiastic participation from youth and wide support from the local community.
A total of eight volleyball teams/clubs from different areas of Police District Sopore participated in the tournament. The final match was played between Khelo India Volleyball Club and Amargarh Volleyball Club, drawing a large audience.
The concluding event was attended by ADC Sopore Shabir Raina, JKAS, Joint Director School Education Baramulla Javed Hakeem, along with a large number of youth, members of civil society, educationists and representatives of trade bodies, who appreciated the initiative and encouraged the participating players.
The championship received an overwhelming response from players and spectators alike. Participating teams expressed gratitude to Sopore Police for organising the tournament and providing a constructive platform for sporting talent and healthy competition.
Addressing the gathering, SSP Sopore Iftkhar Talib-, congratulated the finalist teams and extended best wishes to all participants. He encouraged young players to channel their energy positively through sports, highlighting that sporting activities promote discipline, teamwork, resilience and positive engagement.
