Srinagar : Ahead of Republic Day-2026 celebrations, SSP Shopian Mushtaq Ahmad Choudhary on Saturday chaired a detailed security review meeting today at Conference Hall DPO Shopian.
The SSP Shopian comprehensively assessed the security situation and preparedness for the upcoming Republic Day celebrations in the district. The meeting included key representatives from the Police, Army, CRPF, and other agencies, focusing on critical areas such as deployment strategies, area domination, intelligence sharing, and inter-agency coordination. Emphasizing the importance of heightened vigilance, the SSP highlighted the need for proactive policing and increased patrolling to ensure public peace. He instructed all personnel to maintain effective coordination, facilitate real-time information exchange, and adhere strictly to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), while also prioritizing public convenience and fostering citizen confidence. The meeting concluded with a collective commitment from all participating agencies to conduct the Republic Day celebrations in District Shopian for 2026 in a peaceful and dignified manner.
