Srinagar: This week, Prime Minister Narendra Modi engaged with India’s emerging AI ecosystem, emphasising ethical, inclusive, and globally competitive artificial intelligence, while highlighting startups as the co-architects of the nation’s future. Ahead of the India AI Impact Summit 2026, he stressed the importance of AI for societal good, innovation in regional languages, and affordable technology solutions.
1. PM Modi Emphasises Ethical AI Development: This week Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted the importance of ethical, unbiased, and transparent AI during a roundtable with Indian AI startups ahead of the India AI Impact Summit 2026. He stressed that AI development must respect data privacy principles while promoting local content and regional languages, aligning with the vision of “Made in India, Made for the World.”
2. Startups Key To India’s AI Future, Says PM: Addressing 12 Indian AI startups selected for the ‘AI for ALL: Global Impact Challenge’, Modi called entrepreneurs co-architects of India’s future. He encouraged them to drive inclusive, affordable, and globally competitive AI solutions, noting that India has the capacity for both innovation and large-scale AI implementation.
3. AI For Societal Good a Priority, Say PM Modi: During the interaction, PM Modi emphasised that artificial intelligence should be leveraged to benefit society, supporting applications across healthcare, e-commerce, engineering, material research, and personalized content creation. He underlined the need for AI models that are distinctly Indian, inclusive, and socially responsible.
4. India To Host AI Impact Summit Next Month: PM Modi highlighted that India will host the India AI Impact Summit 2026, which will showcase the country’s growing role in global AI development. The event is expected to accelerate innovation in Indian language AI models, multilingual LLMs, generative AI for e-commerce, engineering simulations, and healthcare diagnostics.

PM Modi Launches Somnath Swabhiman Parv : The Prime Minister inaugurated the Somnath Swabhiman Parv, commemorating the resilience of Indian civilisation and the rebuilding of the Somnath temple after repeated invasions. Modi said the festival honours those who never compromised on principles and ethos and urged citizens to share their memories using #SomnathSwabhimanParv.
6. Somnath Celebrations Mark Centuries Of Faith : PM Modi recalled the historic attacks on Somnath in 1026 and subsequent centuries, highlighting the temple’s repeated reconstruction. He also noted the 75-year commemoration of the 1951 grand reopening, remembering the contributions of leaders like Sardar Patel and KM Munshi, as well as dignitaries including former Prime Ministers Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Rajendra Prasad.
