Ramban: Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mohammad Alyas Khan, Saturday inaugurated the “Yuva Vani 2.0” Youth Club Campaign, a one-day Sensitization and Educational Workshop, under the Jammu and Kashmir Competitiveness and Improvement of Agriculture and allied Projects (JKCIP) at Ramban.
The programme was organized by the Department of Agriculture Production and Farmers Welfare with the objective of empowering youth through capacity building, promoting social responsibility and creating awareness about various government schemes, services and development initiatives. The event witnessed about 350 enthusiastic participants from youth clubs, farmers, officials from different departments and other stakeholders committed to youth development.
Among those present were Chief Planning Officer, Dr. Shakeeb Ahmed Khan; Chief Agriculture Officer, Dr. Vinay Kumar Jandial; SMS KVK Ramban, Dr. Parveen Kumar; Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Dr. Rakesh Arora; District Sheep Husbandry Officer, Dr. Shabir Ahmed; Chief Horticulture Officer, Rajinder Kumar; SDAO, Ayaz Ahmed; SMS (SDL), Rakesh Padha; DAO, Kuldeep Bassan; Assistant Marketing Officer, Tehsim Chib and other senior officers.
Addressing the gathering, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized the pivotal role of youth in shaping the future of the district and urged them to actively engage in constructive, community-oriented initiatives.
He highlighted that platforms like “Yuva Vani 2.0” are designed to provide young people with the right guidance, exposure and opportunities to become responsible citizens and contributors to socio-economic development.
The Deputy Commissioner encouraged participants, especially women and youth, to utilize the knowledge gained during the programme to avail government schemes and act as ambassadors of awareness in their respective blocks.
The Deputy Commissioner inspected the stalls set up by various departments, including Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry, Agriculture, Horticulture and others and interacted with officials to assess the quality of information being provided.
The DC appreciated the efforts of the departments in presenting their initiatives in a citizen-friendly manner and stressed the importance of making such outreach programmes more comprehensive and accessible. He also interacted with youth participants, sought feedback and motivated them to take full advantage of the available opportunities.
These stalls served as information and facilitation points, disseminating details about ongoing schemes, employment and skill development opportunities, welfare initiatives and public services relevant to youth and the general public.
Later, the Deputy Commissioner also planted a tree sapling in the District Complex, underscoring the administration’s commitment to environmental conservation and sustainable development.
