Srinagar : Police on Saturday said that it has arrested an accused involved in an ATM fraud case in the Magam area, demonstrating their commitment to prompt investigation and effective action against crime in Budgam.
In a statement issued here on Saturday Police said that Police Station Magam received a complaint from one Ghulam Ahmad Bhat about fraudulent use of his ATM card by an unknown individual under the guise of helping him in withdrawing the cash. The accused then deceitfully exchanged Bhat’s ATM card at the J&K Bank ATM in Main Branch Magam and withdrew money using the exchanged card. In response, a case (FIR No. 01/2026) was registered at Police Station Magam, and an investigation commenced. A special team was constituted which utilized sustained efforts and technical analysis to apprehend the suspect in the Baramulla district. The accused has been identified as Abdul Nayeem Khan S/O Jalal-ud-Din Khan, from Drangbal, Baramulla. Further investigation into the matter is currently underway.
