Srinagar: Police on Saturday said that it has arrested four drug peddlers in Awantipora and Budgam and recovered contraband substances from their possession.
In a statement issued here on Saturday Police said that a police party from Police Station Awantipora arrested two drug peddlers, Mahasif Wani and Sahil Khokhar, who were found in possession of approximately 650 grams of Bung Chura during a checkpoint search near the CRPF Camp in Padgampora. In a separate incident in Budgam, police intercepted a vehicle and arrested two individuals, Bilal Ahmad Khan and Irshad Ahmad Kuchay, after discovering Heroin and Charas-like substances. Both cases have been registered under relevant legal sections, and the suspects are currently in custody while investigations continue. In its statement Police reiterated its commitment to combat drug trafficking and appealed people to cooperated in reporting related activities.
