“Completion of the Jammu-Srinagar highway and Katra-Srinagar rail link, accelerated by the PRAGATI platform, ensures all-weather connectivity, unlocking immense industrial growth and year-round tourism potential across the Kashmir Valley.”

PRAGATI platform launched recently by Prime Minister Narendra Modi with the objectives of reform and perform can be a game changer in the development of infrastructural projects in Jammu & Kashmir than in any State or Union Territory of the country. All weather connectivity a dream coming true after long wait of over seven decades with the completion of four lance Jammu- Srinagar highway and Katra Srinagar train track is opening up doors for all weather tourist operations in Jammu & Kashmir and more so in  Kashmir Valley. The launch of PRAGATI platform and its implementation in Jammu & Kashmir for opening up floodgates of economic and industrial Development in the Union Territory has caught the attention of the Government with Chief Secretary Attal Dulloo reviewing the implementation of several projects under PRAGATI platform. PRAGATI platform if used for the fast track completion  of infrastructural developmental project can bring the ongoing process of all weather connectivity to a full circle as still some mega road projects like Mughal road  are yet to be completed. The completion of the mega road projects and train tracks are not merely engineering feats but also economic lifelines. For landlocked Kashmir Valley where geography and seasonal isolation have historically stifled economic growth, the completion of mega developmental project under PRAGATI framework can act as a bridge between local execution and central oversight. Jammu & Kashmir Government like many states and union territories of the country can used PRAGATI platform for overcoming delays in the completion of some major infrastructural projects which otherwise miss not one but many deadlines year after year. Chief Secretary reviewing the implementation of PRAGATI platform for completion of several mega developmental projects in Jammu & Kashmir drops an indication that financial and administrative hurdles won’t be now allowed to become the cause of delay in the completion of any mega road project in the Union Territory.

“Strategic infrastructure development in Jammu & Kashmir, overseen by the PRAGATI platform, aims to convert the region’s geographical potential into logistical accessibility. This initiative transcends basic construction; it is designed to fuel economic and industrial expansion, ultimately fostering a stable, interconnected, and vibrant future for the Union Territory.”

The focus of deliberation of the review meeting held by Chief Secretary on working of PRAGATI platform days ago has been significantly on monitoring of the rail and telecom projects besides the completion of under construction mega road projects across the Union Territory. Transforming geographical beauty of Jammu & Kashmir into its logistical accessibility through infrastructural development can further the bigger causes of economic and industrial development in the Union Territory through sustained monitoring from the PRAGATI platform. The broader purpose of the implementation of the mega infrastructural projects is not only infrastructural development in Jammu & Kashmir but building a stable, interconnected, and industrially vibrant future for the Union Territory.
