JKTPO organizes Export Awareness-cum E-Commerce Onboarding workshop in G’bal

Ganderbal : Jammu and Kashmir Trade Promotion Organization (JKTPO) organized an Export Awareness cum E-Commerce Onboarding workshop in collaboration with the District Administration Ganderbal, ODOP Team, DPIIT, GeM, ONDC and Flipkart.

The objective of the workshop was to empower local MSMEs, artisans, SHGs and entrepreneurs by providing them with vital knowledge about export schemes and benefits of digital commerce.

The event was attended by General Manager District Industries Centre Ganderbal, Dr. Mantasha binti Rashid, Functional Manager, District Industries Centre Ganderbal, Bushra Ashraf Shah, Assistant Director Fisheries, AHTO Handicrafts Ganderbal, and other officers from the concerned departments.

At the outset of the programme, JKTPO representative emphasized the pivotal role of JKTPO in organizing the district-level workshop aimed at promoting ODOP sellers and their facilitation on e-commerce platform.

It was informed that Ganderbal district, renowned worldwide for its Willow Work, has been identified under the One District One Product (ODOP) initiative by the District Administration Ganderbal and the Handloom & Handicrafts Department.

The event aimed to connect local producers and artisans with national and international markets through digital platforms and to get well acquainted with the different schemes of the Centre and State Governments. .

The Senior Consultant from GeM, briefly explained about working of GeM Portal, documents required for the registration and benefits which could be leveraged by the Sellers after getting themselves onboarded on the portal.

Representatives from ONDC and Flipkart joined the session virtually and elaborated their role for providing marketing facilities digitally to the exporters/entrepreneurs including market research and buyer information.

Further, more than 110 Artisans, Exporters and FPOs of district Gandebal attended the workshop, witnessed enthusiastic participation and actively engaged in discussions and showed a keen interest for onboarding their products on the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) platform, ONDC and Flipkart.

The initiative is part of JKTPO’s ongoing efforts to promote exports from all districts of Jammu & Kashmir under the District as Export Hub Scheme and ODOP initiative. Expert-led sessions covered a wide range of topics including the benefits of exports, branding local products for international markets, export financing options and credit risk insurance schemes to safeguard exporters.
