Srinagar: Police on Thursday said that it has arrested two drug peddlers and also recovered contraband substance from their possession.
In a statement issued here on Thursday Police said that a police team from Kheerbawani Police Station intercepted two suspects at a checkpoint near Central University Crossing. During a search 3 kilograms of a contraband powdered substance resembling Bhang were recovered. The contraband was seized on-site following legal procedures. A case has been registered under FIR No. 01/2026, and further investigations are underway to determine the source and intended destination of the narcotic substance. In its statement Police reiterated its commitment to combat drug-related issues in society and appealed people to assist by providing any information related to drug trafficking.
