Mountain rescue team training preparedness for Yatra 2026 at Nud Samba
Jammu: Anand Jain, the Additional Director General J&K Armed Police Anand Jain on Wednesday visited Nud, Samba, to evaluate the operations of the IRP 12th Battalion and the training of the J&K Police Mountain Rescue Team (MRT).
During his visit, he inspected the Battalion Headquarters, assessed infrastructure and facilities, and engaged with personnel in a Darbar, addressing their grievances and providing immediate directives for resolution. In his address, Jain highlighted the dangers of drug abuse, underscored the necessity of mandatory CCTV training, and reviewed the preparedness for the upcoming Amarnath Yatra in 2026. He inaugurated a new CCTV Control Room at the Battalion Headquarters, emphasizing the significance of physical and mental health, hygienic food, and professionalism among the personnel.
Jain commended the commitment of the officers and later interacted with MRT members undergoing specialized refresher training, inspecting advanced rescue equipment and observing live demonstrations of mountain rescue techniques, praising the team’s operational readiness. Additionally, Jain inspected the Water Sports Team located at Mansar Lake. The visit was attended by several officials, including Mumtaz Ahmad, Commandant of the IRP 12th Battalion, and other senior officers.
