The programme aims to nurture entrepreneurial spirit among rural youth and women by equipping them with practical skills, scientific knowledge, and business insights related to livestock-based enterprises. Participants from various villages of Bandipora district are actively participating, reflecting a growing aspiration for self-employment through livestock farming.

Head, KVK Bandipora-1, Dr. Tariq Sultan, highlighted the importance of skill-based training in empowering rural youth. He encouraged trainees to adopt modern technologies and benefit from government schemes supporting agripreneurship.

The training programme is being coordinated by Dr. Nazir Ahmad Mir, SMS (Animal Science), KVK Bandipora-1, who emphasized that livestock-based entrepreneurship offers strong opportunities for employment generation, income enhancement, and rural development.

The programme includes expert sessions by specialists from universities and line departments, covering scientific livestock management, enterprise planning, value addition, marketing, and financial support. These sessions proved especially beneficial for rural women, enhancing their confidence and entrepreneurial skills.

The training covers dairy, sheep and fodder development, animal health management, entrepreneurship development, preparation of bankable project reports, and financial linkages through lectures, demonstrations, and interactive sessions.

The initiative reflects KVK Bandipora-1’s commitment to youth empowerment and promotion of sustainable livestock-based entrepreneurship for socio-economic upliftment of rural communities.
