Kishore listens patiently to public grievances, distributes sanction & authorization letters among beneficiaries

Ganderbal: In a continued effort to strengthen grassroots governance and ensure responsive administration, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Jatin Kishore Wednesday chaired a public outreach programme at Kijpara in subdivision Kangan.

The programme witnessed active participation from residents of Kijpara, Barwalla, Wussan, Wangath, Kachnambal and adjoining villages.

Additional District Development Commissioner, Manzoor Ahmad, Sub-divisional Magistrate Kangan, Assistant Commissioner Panchayat/ Development, and officers from line departments were present in the program.

During the interaction, locals raised issues related to road widening and macadamization, protection bunds along the Sind embankment, power supply, healthcare and education facilities, door-to-door garbage collection, water supply, de-siltation and repairs of canals, among other civic amenities.

Officers and heads of departments responded patiently to the issues and grievances pertaining to their respective sectors and assured necessary follow up.

Addressing the gathering, the DC said that such outreach programmes provide the administration with a first-hand understanding of the problems faced by people at the grassroots level, besides enabling feedback on developmental works already executed. He noted that the issues raised during the programme were noted by the officers and all efforts would be made to ensure timely resolution.

The DC reaffirmed the district administration’s commitment to efficient, transparent and responsive governance, and emphasized continuous public engagement for improving service delivery. He also appreciated the active participation of the public and urged them to continue cooperating with the administration for overall development of the area.

Earlier, the DC inspected various departmental stalls established by Revenue, Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal & Sheep Husbandry, Social Welfare, Handicrafts & Handloom, and CSC/Khidmat Centres, among others. These stalls facilitated dissemination of information about government schemes and provided on-the-spot services to the public.

On the occasion, the DC distributed authorization and approval letters under HADP, ISDS, JKCIP and other government schemes as well as handed over various certificates related to online Revenue services to applicants.
