Qazigund, January 8 : (KH) In view of the forthcoming Republic Day celebrations, Kulgam Police have stepped up security arrangements along the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) in the Qazigund area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
As part of heightened preventive measures, intensified checking and frisking operations are being conducted to ensure public safety and maintain a robust law-and-order situation. The special drive is being led by Station House Officer (SHO) Qazigund, Syed Nazir Indrabi, under the close supervision of the Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Highway and the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Qazigund, in compliance with the directions of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kulgam, Anayat Ali Choudhary.
A police official said that strict vigilance is being maintained across the district, with senior officers personally monitoring the security scenario. “All necessary precautions are being taken to provide a safe, peaceful, and secure environment for citizens during the Republic Day celebrations,” the official added.
The police have appealed to the public to cooperate with security personnel and report any suspicious activity to help maintain peace and order.
