Jugal, Baldev highlights transformative impact of VB-GRAM G at Jammu

Jammu, 06 January 2025:
Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) Jugal Kishore Sharma, along with J&K BJP General Secretary and Convenor for VB-GRAM G Janajagaran Abhiyan Baldev Singh Billawaria, addressed a press conference on the Viksit Bharat – Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) (VB-GRAM G) at the party headquarters, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.
J&K BJP General Secretary Mohammad Anwar Khan, former MLA Ashwani Sharma, J&K BJP Kissan Morcha President Rakesh Pant, and other senior leaders, were also present on the occasion.
Addressing the media, Jugal Kishore Sharma said that the VB-GRAM G Act, 2025 marks a historic shift in India’s rural employment policy by replacing the outdated and corruption-ridden MGNREGA framework with a development-oriented, transparent and future-ready model. He said that the Modi government has redefined rural employment by linking it directly with durable asset creation, village infrastructure, water security and livelihood enhancement, in line with the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047.
Jugal Sharma explained that under VB-GRAM G, the statutory employment guarantee has been enhanced from 100 to 125 days per rural household, ensuring stronger livelihood security for rural families. He added that unlike earlier schemes where work was fragmented and often meaningless, the new Act ensures outcome-driven works grouped under water conservation, core rural infrastructure, livelihood-related assets and climate resilience. He emphasized that village-level planning through Viksit Gram Panchayat Plans and integration with PM Gati Shakti will prevent duplication and ensure holistic rural development.
Jugal Sharma also underlined that the Act embeds technology as a legal mandate, including biometric attendance, geo-tagging, satellite monitoring and AI-based fraud detection, which will eliminate fake job cards, ghost beneficiaries and financial leakages that plagued the previous regime. He said that time-bound wage payments and enforceable grievance redressal mechanisms restore dignity and trust for rural workers, while the agriculture-sensitive pause during peak farming seasons protects farmers’ interests.
Baldev Singh Billawaria said that the BJP has launched the VB-GRAM G Janajagaran Abhiyan to counter misinformation and take the facts of the new law to every village. He said the campaign will ensure that workers, farmers and Panchayati Raj representatives clearly understand the benefits of VB-GRAM G, which guarantees transparency, accountability and sustainable rural prosperity under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
