Samba : The Labour Department Samba organised a one-day awareness and interactive programme on the New Labour Codes Saturday in the Baribrahmana Association Hall.
The programme was aimed at sensitising Human Resource (HR) professionals from industrial establishments and other stakeholders about the four new Labour Codes introduced by the Government of India.
The focus was on generating awareness regarding the salient features, compliance requirements and additional benefits of the four Labour Codes, which seek to simplify existing labour laws, improve compliance mechanism, enhance ease of doing business and strengthen the social security and welfare framework for workers.
The programme was graced by the Deputy Labour Commissioner Jammu Sukhpal Singh, who attended the event as the Chief Guest.
In his address, he highlighted the significance of the new Labour Codes in promoting transparency, streamlining compliance and balancing the interest of employers and employees.

Assistant Labour Commissioner Samba Himani Jerath delivered a detailed presentation and guided the participants on the four new Labour Codes- The Wages Code; The Industrial Relations Code; The Code on Social Security; The Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Code.
She elaborated on their practical implications, compliance procedures and the benefits offered to both industries and workers under the new legal framework.
The programme concluded with an interactive session during which participants raised queries and shared their experiences. The session was well appreciated by the attendees and proved to be a valuable platform for enhancing awareness and understanding of the new labour law regime.
