Kishtwar: The Department of Labour Kishtwar Friday organized an awareness camp here at the Ratle Hydroelectric Power Project Site to sensitize stakeholders to new labour codes and financial inclusion schemes for workers. The programme focused on generating awareness about key labour legislations, including the Labour Codes, the Occupational Safety, Health and Welfare Code 2020 and the Social Security Code.
Detailed awareness sessions were held to familiarize stakeholders with the provisions, rights and responsibilities envisaged under these codes.
The officials interacted with the company’s Human Resource personnel, management and workers (skilled, semi-skilled and unskilled).The participants were sensitized about labour welfare measures, workplace safety norms, and social security benefits available under the new legal framework.
In addition, special emphasis was laid on saturation of Financial Inclusion Schemes- Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana and the Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan Yojana.
Workers were informed about the eligibility criteria, benefits and enrollment procedures of these schemes.
As a significant outcome of the awareness drive, 30 on-the-spot registrations were done under the social security schemes, reflecting positive participation and growing awareness among the workforce.
