Ganderbal : As part of the National Road Safety Month 2026, commenced from Thursday, the Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Jatin Kishore flagged off a Road Safety Awareness Rally from the Mini Secretariat Ganderbal.
The rally witnessed active participation from various stakeholders, including local transporters, drivers, traffic officials and locals. The rally passed through major roads of Ganderbal town, spreading awareness about road safety norms and the precautions to be observed while driving.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of collective responsibility in ensuring road safety and urged all to strictly adhere to traffic rules to prevent accidents and save lives.
Pertinently, transport department has scheduled series of awareness and enforcement activities across the district like programmes in schools and colleges to educate students about traffic rules, pedestrian safety, and responsible road behaviour. Special awareness drives will also be organized at bus stands, transport unions, and other public places to sensitize drivers and commuters about safe driving practices.
