Jammu : The 17th Junior National Roll Ball Championship concluded successfully at the Maulana Azad Stadium, Jammu, on 1st January 2026, after four days of intense competition held from 29th December 2025 to 1st January 2026.

The championship witnessed spirited participation from young Roll Ball players representing States and Union Territories from across the country. In the boys category, Rajasthan clinched the champions’ title, while Uttar Pradesh finished as runners-up and Maharashtra secured third place. In the girls category, Assam lifted the champions’ trophy, with Tamil Nadu finishing second and Maharashtra claiming third position. The closing ceremony was held at M.A. Stadium, Jammu, where Nuzhat Gul, Secretary, J&K Sports Council, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and felicitated the winners and runners-up by distributing medals and trophies.

In his message on the occasion, Minister for Youth Services and Sports, J&K Satish Sharma, congratulated all the winning teams and participants for their commendable performances. He urged the young athletes to act as ambassadors of Jammu & Kashmir, carrying forward the message of unity, peace, and sporting excellence, and to share their experiences of the region’s diversity and hospitality with the rest of the country. The ceremony was also attended by  Goutam Daluja, President, Roll Ball Federation of India, along with other senior officials of the federation. The Roll Ball Federation of India expressed its gratitude to the J&K Sports Council and Govt. of J&K for the top-class hospitality, excellent infrastructure, and smooth conduct of the championship, terming J&K a capable and welcoming host for national-level sporting events. Outstanding individual performances were recognized during the championship, with Ms. Siya Sankholiya of Assam being adjudged the Best Player of the Tournament in the Girls’ Section, while Jonathan Advard of Kerala was declared the Best Player in the Boys’ Section. The successful conclusion of the 17th Junior National Roll Ball Championship once again reinforced Jammu & Kashmir’s growing stature on the national sports map and its ability to host major sporting events with professionalism and warmth.
