84 Bn CRPF inaugurates “Chenab Open Air Gym” on New Year’s Day

Ramban: The 84 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) inaugurated the Chenab Open Air Gym at its Tactical Headquarters- Boom Ramban on the New Year’s Day.

The gym was formally inaugurated by N. Gayabati Devi, First Lady of 84 Bn in a function attended by N. Ranbir Singh, Commandant, 84 Bn; Vikram Singh, Second-in-Command; A. K. Dixit, Second-in-Command, along with officers, families, personnel of 84 Bn CRPF and media representatives.

The open-air gym has been developed to promote physical and mental well-being among CRPF personnel. It comprises 12 different pieces of equipment designed to facilitate overall physical fitness, focusing on strength, cardio and flexibility.

Addressing the gathering, the Commandant emphasized that physical fitness is paramount in a combat force like the CRPF. He noted that games, sports and gym activities are effective means to inculcate fitness among personnel. With this objective, the facility has been developed to further strengthen the fitness culture within the battalion.

The 84 Bn CRPF, Boom Ramban already has two badminton courts, one volleyball court, one lawn tennis court and one modern gym to ensure the overall fitness of its personnel.
