Srinagar: Police on Thursday said that it has arrested two drug peddlers and recovered contraband substances from their possessionin Budgam.
In a statement issued here on Thursday Police said that a police team from Police Station Budgam during a patrol in the village of Karipora near the Railway Crossing intercepted two suspicious individuals, Zahoor Ahmad Bhat and Amir Ahmad Gojri. Upon noticing the police, the suspects attempted to flee but were quickly apprehended. During a search, authorities recovered approximately 47.38 grams of a substance resembling charas and seized a mobile phone from their possession. Following the incident, a case was registered under FIR No. 347/2025 at Police Station Budgam, and an investigation has commenced. In its Police reiterated its commitment to combat drug abuse in society and appealed people to cooperate by reporting any information related to drug peddling or trafficking.
