Kishtwar: The Zonal Education Office (ZEO) NagseniWednesday organized a one-day Training Programme and Cooking Competition for Cook-cum-Helpers engaged under PM POSHAN.
The event was organised in continuation to the ongoing promotional campaign under the PM POSHAN Scheme (erstwhile Mid-Day Meal) at Government High School Bandarna.
The one-day training programme focused on enhancing the capacity of Cook-cum-Helpers in key areas including food safety, hygiene, nutritional standards, safe and proper cooking practices, and effective implementation of PM POSHAN guidelines to ensure the delivery of wholesome and nutritious meals to school children.
While addressing the participants, ZEO Nagseni Dr. Riaz ul Hacq emphasized the moral, ethical, social and professional significance of cooking practices in schools.
Participants were evaluated on parameters such as hygiene, taste, nutritional value, presentation and adherence to PM POSHAN guidelines.
The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd group prize winners were awarded cash prizes of Rs. 2000, Rs. 1500 and Rs. 1000 respectively along with mementos, in recognition of their dedication and valuable contribution to school nutrition services.
