Says ” World Sees India with Hope, Confidence”

New Delhi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday described the year 2025 as a turning point in India’s long-running reform effort, saying a series of policy changes across sectors had accelerated growth and reinforced the country’s ambition of becoming a developed nation.
In a post on professional social network LinkedIn, Modi wrote that India had “boarded the Reform Express,” propelled by a young population, entrepreneurial momentum and what he called the resilience of its people.
He stated that India’s growing prominence on the global stage was the result of next-generation reforms designed to be multi-sectoral, citizen-focused and oriented towards long-term growth.
PM said, “India has emerged as the centre of global attention. This is due to the innovative zeal of our people. Today, the world sees India with hope and confidence.”
He noted that the world appreciates the manner in which the pace of progress has been accelerated with next-generation reforms, which are cross-sectoral and amplify the country’s growth potential.
According to the PM, primary engine of the ‘reform express’ is India’s demography, the young generation and the indomitable spirit of the people of the nation.
The year 2025, PM said, will be remembered as a year for India when it focused on reforms as a continuous national mission, building on the ground covered over the past eleven years.
“We modernised institutions, simplified governance, and strengthened the foundations for long-term, inclusive growth, ” PM added.
Throwing light on the reforms, Modi said they have been about enabling citizens to live with dignity, entrepreneurs to innovate with confidence and institutions to function with clarity and trust.
He said there have been unparalleled relief for the middle class with no income tax for those earning up to Rs 12 lakh per annum, also the replacement of obsolete Income-tax Act of 1961 with the modern and simple Income Tax Act, 2025.
The PM said that boost to small and medium businesses, with definition of “small companies” expanded to include firms with turnovers up to Rs. 100 crore.
PM Modi also pointed to reforms in the GST with a two-slab structure of 5 per cent and 18 percent.
“The purpose is to ensure dispute reduction and better compliance. This reform has boosted consumer sentiment and demand. Sales have grown in the festive season,” he added.
Prime Minister Modi described the nuclear energy related SHANTI Act as a “transformational reform” which will allow India expand its nuclear power generation capacity harnessing “clean technologies, while opening new opportunities for private participation and innovation”.
Concluding his post, Modi said the reforms of 2025 were guided “by collaboration over control” and “facilitation over regulation”. He urged investors, innovators and institutions in to deepen their engagement with India’s growth story in the years ahead.
