Kathua : Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Rajesh Sharma Tuesday inspected the progress of works taken up under AMRUT 2.0 at Lakhanpur.
The Deputy Commissioner, accompanied by Deputy Commissioner State Taxes Joginder Singh Jasrotia; Chief Planning Officer Ranjeet Thakur; Executive Engineer PHE, Tehsildar and Executive Officer Municipal Committee Lakhanpur inspected the District Water Testing Laboratory and assessed its functioning and capacity for water quality monitoring.
The Deputy Commissioner also inspected the up-gradation of the Excise Department building proposed to be developed as a Community Training Centre. He directed the concerned officers to expedite the process to make the facility operational at the earliest. Besides, the DC asked for exploring the possibility of accommodating government offices presently running in rented accommodations in the building complex.
Inspecting the under construction tubewell at Lakhanpur, the Deputy Commissioner stressed for its early completion to strengthen the local water supply system. He instructed the executing agency to adhere to prescribed timelines and quality standards.
The DC also inspected the pipeline near the Railway Station and the progress of the main Water Supply Scheme (WSS) being executed under AMRUT 2.0. Necessary directions were issued to ensure smooth execution of works and minimum inconvenience to the public.
Emphasising the importance of timely and quality infrastructure development, the Deputy Commissioner urged the concerned departments to maintain close coordination and ensure completion of all works within stipulated timelines to deliver improved civic amenities to the residents of Lakhanpur.
