  • Women Entrepreneurship Mela organised in Distt G’bal under Mission Yuva;

Ganderbal: A Women Entrepreneurship and SHG Mela under Mission Yuva was organised in District Ganderbal Tuesday to promote women entrepreneurship and provide a common platform for women entrepreneurs to showcase their products to the general public.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Jatin Kishore presided over the event as the Chief Guest.
While interacting with women entrepreneurs on the occasion, DC said that the Mela was organised with the objective of generating awareness among budding women entrepreneurs about different government schemes, including Mission Yuva, NRLM, UMEED, PM-FME and other self-employment initiatives, besides providing necessary handholding support for business expansion.
He lauded the lady entrepreneurs of the district for their active participation in entrepreneurial activities and encouraged them to scale up their enterprises by availing handholding support under various government schemes.
DC emphasised upon the Employment Department, ITIs, Degree Colleges and other stakeholder departments to ensure effective utilization of the platform by providing guidance, mentoring, and technical support to women entrepreneurs to help them scale up their ventures.
He urged the participating women to actively enroll under government schemes and motivate other women in their neighbourhoods to take up entrepreneurial ventures. He encouraged those already running businesses to expand their operations by leveraging available government initiatives.
Earlier, DC inspected the stalls put up by various Self Help Groups (SHGs) and interacted with the women entrepreneurs, enquiring about their products, production capacity, market linkage and future expansion plans. He directed the concerned officers to provide requisite training in soft skills, branding and marketing to enhance the market reach of their products.
A programme to commemorate the entrepreneurial spirit of the local women entrepreneurs was also organised on the occasion during which success stories of several SHGs were presented, highlighting their entrepreneurial journey and achievements.
Entrepreneurship and SHG Expo, Workshops and Learning Sessions among other activities were also conducted to boost entrepreneurial spirit among aspiring women entrepreneurs.
Later, a felicitation ceremony was held during which awards and sanction letters under Mission YUVA were distributed among women entrepreneurs and best performing SHGs.
