Ganderbal: The Rajbhasha Cell of the Central University of Kashmir inaugurated a four-day Training (Personal Contact) Programme on Rajbhasha on December 30, 2025, aimed at strengthening the practical use of Hindi in official work. The programme is designed for the administrative staff of the University, enrolled in various courses including: Prabodh, Praveen ,Pragya and Parangat offered by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Department of Official languages, Government of India.
Speaking on the occassion Dr. Rameshvar Lal Meena, Assistant Director at the Ministry of Home Affairs, lauded the university’s efforts in implementing Rajbhasha, the use of Hindi in official work. He discussed the constitutional provisions and guidelines that govern Hindi usage and provided practical insights for its effective application in administrative offices. Dr. Nisar Ahmad Mir, the university’s Registrar, reiterated the institution’s commitment to promoting Hindi in official communications, assuring support from the administration for the systematic implementation of Rajbhasha. He highlighted the Vice Chancellor, Prof. A Ravinder Nath’s, enthusiasm for enhancing the use of both Rajbhasha and the Kashmiri language within the university. Dr. Nazir Ahmad Bhat, the University Librarian, emphasized the importance of continuous learning and capacity-building for staff, noting that proficiency in Hindi is essential for effectively managing official communications in accordance with government standards. Dr. Arif Khan, the Finance Officer, stressed the significance of ethics, discipline, and critical thinking in enhancing institutional efficiency and service delivery. Dr. Sakina Akhter, the Hindi Adhikari and program coordinator, welcomed participants and outlined the training program’s objectives, which aim to provide practical exposure to Hindi usage in official correspondence and administrative tasks.
