Srinagar : The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar commemorated Veer Bal Diwas on Friday with enthusiasm and reverence on its campus, paying tribute to the supreme sacrifice and courage of the Sahibzadas.
The event showcased active involvement from children of faculty and staff, making it both educational and engaging. Organized under the guidance of Executive Engineer Dr. Syed Mohsin Shabir, the program aimed to instill values of bravery, patriotism, and discipline among the participants. Key attendees included In-charge Director Prof. Roohie Naaz Mir, Registrar Prof. Atikur Rehman, and other faculty members, highlighting the collaborative effort of the institute. Director Prof. Binod Kumar Kanaujia emphasized that Veer Bal Diwas serves as a powerful reminder of the courage displayed by the Sahibzadas at a young age, whose sacrifices continue to inspire future generations. He underscored the significance of such observances in fostering responsible and value-driven citizens. Prof. Roohie Naaz Mir echoed this sentiment, noting that the day commemorates the sacrifices made by young heroes and is essential for instilling ideals of resilience and national pride in children. Registrar Prof. Atikur Rehman stressed the importance of remembering history and imparting its lessons to younger generations. He pointed out that engaging children through various activities helps them grasp the significance of sacrifice, unity, and societal service. The celebrations included a range of activities including painting competitions, football matches, and races, which saw enthusiastic participation from the children, further enhancing the educational experience.
