Mission Dir HADP reviews progress on Kisan Khidmat Ghars, Commends role of Krishi Udyamis

Jammu : Secretary in Agriculture Production Department and Mission Director Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP), Sandeep Kumar, Wednesday chaired a review meeting to assess the functioning of Kisan KhidmatGhars (KKGs) established during Phase-I besides reviewing the progress of Phase-II KKGs across the Union Territory.
During the meeting, the Mission Director reviewed the Action Taken Report (ATR) on earlier directions of the department. He took stock of the status of establishment of Phase-II KKGs, including land identification, site selection, availability of equipment and expenditure details. The preparedness for the launch of Phase-II KKGs and the progress on orientation and training programmes for Krishi Udyamis in collaboration with SKUAST Jammu and Kashmir were also discussed.
The Mission Director commended the pivotal role being played by Krishi Udyamis (KUs) in successfully running Kisan KhidmatGhars as viable agri-enterprises while simultaneously delivering essential extension services to the farmers. He noted that KKGs have emerged as an effective model for youth-led agri-entrepreneurship, enabling the KUs to earn a decent and sustainable livelihood.
The Mission Director appreciated the outstanding performance of AleeemRidwama (KKG Hal, Pulwama), Shoaib Amin (KKG Tral), Neha Kumar (KKG MC Arnia), Rajni Salathia (KKG Sunari) and Uzma Saleem(KKG Latti, Udhampur) for their commendable performance during the financial year, describing them as role models for other Krishi Udyamis across the UT.
Deputy Commissioners of districts, senior officers of the Agriculture Production Department, technical officers and representatives from SKUAST Jammu and Kashmir attended the meeting while officers based outside the region joined the proceedings through video conferencing.
The Mission Director emphasized timely completion of all preparatory activities. He directed the Directors of Agriculture, Jammu and Kashmir divisions, to ensure close monitoring and smooth operationalisation of Phase-II Kisan KhidmatGhars, reaffirming the government’s commitment to strengthening last-mile agricultural service delivery under HADP.
